Tanisha Mukherjee comes from a well known family, which has been working in Bollywood since the 1940s. Her paternal grandfather is Sashadhar Mukherjee, uncles are famous actors Joy Mukherjee & Deb Mukherjee, great-grandmother Rattan Bai, grandmother Shobhna Samarth & aunt Nutan. Her father is Shomu Mukherjee & her mother is famous actress Tanuja. She is the younger sister of the popular actress Kajol.Her other famous cousins include Mohnish Behl, Sharbani Mukherjee & famous actress Rani Mukerjee.
Her paternal grandfather was a famous film director & producer. His wife Satirani Devi, Tanisha's grandmother was the sister of three great film personality Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar.
Tanisha started out her career as a V.J in 1995 for channel V. She used to anchor the famous show called BPL Oye.
She made her debut with Sssshhh opposite Dino Morea. Tanisha's first hit film was Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar, which starred film legend Amitabh Bachchan & his son Abhishek Bachchan.
Recently, she played the female lead character of Nikkita "Nikki" Bakshi in Neal N Nikki. Tanisha has two films for release, the first being One Two Three, a multi-starrer comedy& Sarkar Raj, the sequel to her previous film, Sarkar.The film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. |
