Amisha Patel is born in Mumbai & her parents are Amit Patel and Asha Patel.
Her grandfather, Rajni Patel, is a famous Indian lawyer. She pursued a degree in Economics from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, US. She also knows classical Bharatnatyam. Her name is a blend of her parents' names (First three letters from her father's name Amit and the last three letters from her mother's name Asha). Rakesh Roshan had spotted her at a party & had planned to launch his son, Hrithik Roshan in his film,Kaho Naa Pyar Hai.
She has also acted in 3 Telegu movies, has been the recipient of 4 awards for her performance in 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai', and 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'.
She has many critics, who have described her as mediocre, but have since then bitten their lips when they were proved wrong by this petite, and beautiful actress - who has, and continues to enthrall her fans with a variety of performances on the silver screen.
