Randeep Singh Hooda was born in Rohtak district of Haryana. His mother Asha Hooda is a BJP politician & his father is a surgeon by profession.
When he was 8 years old he went to a boarding school in Rai, Sonepat, Haryana. He then went to Delhi Public School in RK Puram New Delhi, before moving to Australia for higher studies. He is Bachelors in Marketing & Human Resource Management.
He made his film debut in Monsoon Wedding where he plays an NRI. He got the role in Monsoon Wedding primarily because of his Australian accent rather than his acting skills or good looks. However even after a powerful performance in Monsoon Wedding he had to wait for 4 years to get a second project.
He finally got lucky and Ram Gopal Varma cast him as lead in the gritty gangster flick D. "D" was a turning point in his career and he suddenly became a household name across the country.
Recently he got the lead role in Karma, Confessions and Holi produced by Drena De Niro. For the first time, he is playing lead in a romantic movie named Ru-Ba-Ru. |
